About Me

I help companies and individuals improve their workplace relationships and increase collaboration. And I help companies help their people be more engaged and happier at work.

As a Corporate Social Worker, with a background in Human Resources and Internal Communications, I have expertise in employee experience, change management, and workforce development.

My skills are in the areas of human behavior, employee engagement, internal communications, diversity & inclusion, collaboration, mentoring, experiential learning, new hire onboarding, and change management. I am a natural problem solver and identify as an “efficiency monster” and “chaos buster”! From four employees to thousands, I have experience with small and large organizations. Additionally, I love facilitating workshops on collaboration and using collective strengths as a team.

Throughout my corporate career, whether through career development, learning, or internal communications, I have managed programs that engage employees. I have led champion programs, built mentoring programs, and consulted on various topics such as change management, cultural competency, and social business. I built and managed online internal communities for employees and managers while doubling the percentage of active online profiles; increasing membership size by more than 500%; and, evolving the executive communications to be more engaging and social.

I won an IBM Forward Thinker Award for the work I did in designing and implementing a social communications strategy.

Before my corporate work, I spent time in the nonprofit world — specifically, as a program director, case manager, and therapist, with specializations in teenage pregnancy, addiction therapy, and violence against women.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Masters in Social Welfare with a concentration in Macro Social Work.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, learning about minimalism, collecting houseplants, and finding good restaurants and bakeries. I recently served on the Board of Directors at my local church. In my past life, I acted in and/or directed community theater and still feel very comfortable on stage. My top strengths (from CliftonStrengths) are Woo, Includer, Arranger, Communication, Connectedness. Brené Brown is my hero and favorite author!

I live in Emeryville, California with my husband, Zubair, and our two kiddos, Zoe and Greyson.
